How to Choose a Body Shop in Miami (Without Getting Burned)
Seven questions that separate a shop that restores your car from one that just makes it look fixed until the next rain.
You are choosing the shop, not your insurance company — Florida law is clear on that. Here is what to ask before you hand over the keys.
The seven questions
- What warranty covers the workmanship and the paint, and for how long?
- Will you use OEM, aftermarket, or used parts — and will you tell me which?
- Do you measure structural damage on a frame bench and give me the report?
- Do you recalibrate ADAS cameras and sensors after the repair?
- Is the paint blended into adjacent panels or masked at the seam?
- Who negotiates the supplement with my adjuster?
- What is the target completion date, and who calls me if it changes?
Red flags
No written estimate. Pressure to sign a blank authorization. A promise to 'cover your deductible' — that is insurance fraud and it puts you on the claim. And a quote that comes in dramatically under everyone else usually means filler where metal work belongs.
